Licensing & disclosures.
Pinnacle Life Group is a licensed independent insurance agency. Agents acting on our behalf are individually licensed in the states in which they transact business.
How to check we're legitimate
Insurance licensing works per person and per state, so there is no single number that covers everyone here. What matters to you is simpler: the individual you speak with must be licensed in your state, and you can verify that yourself in about a minute.
Ask us first
We expect it. Whoever contacts you will give you their full name and their license or producer number before asking you anything about yourself. If they have not, ask — and if anyone is ever reluctant to give it, that alone tells you what you need to know.
Then check it against either of these:
- Your state Department of Insurance. Every state runs a free public lookup for licensed agents and agencies.
- The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR). A national lookup covering producers across all states.

Not available in all states
Insurance products, benefit amounts, riders and rates vary by state and by carrier, and not every product described on this site is available in every state. Nothing here constitutes an offer to sell insurance in a jurisdiction where we or the issuing carrier are not licensed.
We are not an insurer
Pinnacle does not underwrite insurance and does not pay claims. Policies are issued and underwritten by the carriers with which we are appointed, and all coverage is subject to carrier underwriting and to the terms, conditions, exclusions and limitations of the issued policy. Carrier financial-strength ratings are assigned by independent rating agencies and can change.
How we are compensated
We are compensated by the insurance carrier whose policy you choose, typically as a commission and any applicable renewal commission. You do not pay us a fee, and using an agent does not increase your premium — premiums are set by the carrier and filed with your state's insurance regulator. You may ask your agent about compensation on any product at any time.
Product characterization
Mortgage protection is life insurance. It is a life insurance policy with a death benefit sized to a mortgage balance. It is not private mortgage insurance (PMI), it is not required by any lender, it is not affiliated with your lender or servicer, and it does not pay the lender directly. The benefit is paid to the beneficiary named on the policy.
Final expense is life insurance. It is a whole life policy with a modest death benefit intended to cover funeral, burial or cremation costs and related expenses. Some final expense products carry a graded or modified death benefit during an initial period — your agent will tell you if a product you are considering does.
Annuities are insurance contracts, not bank deposits. They are not FDIC insured, are not guaranteed by any bank or federal agency, and guarantees are backed solely by the claims-paying ability of the issuing carrier. Surrender charges and withdrawal restrictions may apply.
Medicare. We are not connected with or endorsed by the United States government or the federal Medicare program.
Unsolicited contact
We contact consumers who have requested contact from us. If you receive a communication purporting to be from Pinnacle that you did not request, please report it to us through our contact page so we can investigate.
Complaints
Raise a complaint with us at any time. You also retain the right to contact your state Department of Insurance, which regulates insurance producers and carriers in your state and can take a complaint directly.
