What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. Similar technologies — local storage, pixels and software development kits — work comparably. They can be set by us (first-party) or by a service we use (third-party), and they last either for the browsing session or for a set period.

What this site uses

This site is deliberately light on tracking. We do not run advertising cookies, we do not operate cross-site retargeting pixels, and we do not build advertising profiles about you. We do not currently run analytics cookies either.

Strictly necessary

If you only browse this site or use the contact and consultation forms, we currently set no cookies at all — the forms work even with cookies fully blocked. The one strictly necessary use is sign-in: when agents and administrators sign in to the portal, we set authentication cookies that keep you signed in for the session or a set sign-in period. Those are not optional for signed-in use, because the portal cannot keep you signed in without them.

Payments

When you purchase an event ticket, you are redirected to our payment processor's (Stripe's) secure checkout, where Stripe sets cookies on its own pages for secure checkout and fraud prevention. Those cookies are set and governed by Stripe on Stripe's domain, under Stripe's own cookie policy.

Map tiles

The interactive office map on our offices page loads its background map images from CARTO, a mapping provider that uses OpenStreetMap data. Your browser requests those images directly from CARTO, which receives standard request data such as your IP address and browser information. These requests set no cookies and are used only to display the map.

How to control cookies

Browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Because the public site sets none, blocking cookies will not affect browsing or the contact and consultation forms. Agents and administrators who block cookies will not be able to stay signed in to the portal.

Global Privacy Control. We honor the GPC browser signal as a valid opt-out request where applicable law requires it.

Do Not Track. There is still no common industry standard for responding to DNT headers, so we do not respond to them differently — but we honor GPC, which is the enforceable equivalent.
